The Vermont Campus Energy Group (VCEG) is a ReBuild America-sponsored initiative established to help promote Vermont’s colleges and universities advance energy efficiency and renewable energy projects on their campuses.
These projects help to:
-Save institutions money
-Increase environmental awareness
-Conserve Vermont’s natural resources
-Protect the health of campus citizens and community members
-Promote learning about energy production and its impacts
-Achieve institutional environmental objectives
How VCEG Works:
Under the guidance of the VCEG Campus Coordinator, energy projects are created, developed, and executed by campus-based energy teams. The teams are composed of students, staff, faculty, and administrators interested in making a difference in how their institution makes and uses energy.
What VCEG Offers:
VCEG brings energy resources and organizational expertise to campuses interested in implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Specifically, VCEG offers:
-Energy efficiency and renewable energy expertise
-State and national networking opportunities
-Project financing options
-Professional resources and tools
-Organizational development assistance
Vermont Campuses Leading the Way:

Examples of energy projects already underway in Vermont and elsewhere include:
-High efficiency lighting retrofits
-Campus-based wind turbines
-Energy Star dorm room and building ratings
-Vending Miser ™ programs
-Weatherization programs
-Solar electric and hot water heating
-Building commissioning programs
-Cogeneration heating systems
